Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony — Elite’s Manifesto
Many Christians were upset with the opening ceremony of France Olympic Games, especially the clear mockery of the Last Supper — recreation of da Vinci’s mural with transgender people. What really surprised me was a genuine astonishment by the Christians, but the opening ceremony shouldn’t have shocked anyone who knows the roots of the humanist revolution are.

Nouveau Régime
The French Revolution had overturned the Ancien Régime, Parisians were killing nobles and priests on the streets. The strong anticlerical attitudes of the masses caused a vacuum in the religious domain. The revolutionaries like Anacharsis Cloots, Jacques Hébert, Antoine-François Momoro proposed the Cult of Reason as the substitute for the old Roman Catholic Church. The Festival of Reason was held in Paris on 10 November 1793. The culmination of the “holiday” took place in Notre Dame de Paris. “To Philosophy” inscription was seen over the main entrance, a torch representing reason was placed instead of the main altar. Women in roman tunics (including Clootes wife Sophie) represented goddesses Liberty and Reason.

The Feast of reason by french freemasons.
The Cult did not meet a warm support among Jacobins, Robespierre openly scorned it as a farce, and soon after the guillotine took lives (24 March 1794) of the initiators (Hébert, Momoro, Ronsin, Vincent) the cult was abandoned.
Nothing new under the Sun
The opening ceremony of the Olympics “offended” many Christians around the world. Bishop Barron called it “a gross mockery of the Last Supper”.
But this was not just a cheap provocation, it was a political manifesto which stated two things:
- Since the French Revolution, the Nouveau Régime is still running this country and makes decisions about the future of this world (France is in G7+G20 and has nuclear arms).
- LGBTQ is the new “goddess of reason”. No one cares if you like them or not, they were put there (not their choice) by the Regime like Clootes’ wife Sophie.
I agree with bishop Baron — “Christians should not be sheepish and resist”, but instead of playing a victim, we should have called it a “pathetic farce” as Robespierre did and watch the political guillotine slide.
Paris 2024 spokesperson Anne Descamps already issued some sort of apology —
“Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group.”
Conclusion
Christian resistance to the Elites’ agenda too often takes the “offended victim” tactics. Christians were persecuted the whole time, this is our way as st. Paul stated –
“ We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
2 Corinthians 4:8–12
We shouldn’t concentrate on our “offended ego” but grind every day by implementing our religious values— taking care of our families, the poor and abandoned, praying, celebrating the Eucharist and proclaiming the Gospel , actively resisting the elite’s agenda— all the things that make us Christian. This way we will outlive any Regime, any persecution and mockery, as our predecessors successfully did.
The last quote by Gabriele Kuby should encourage you to move on —
The enemies of God have the power and money, and the defenders of human dignity have God, nature and reason on their side. When we look at history, we see how short-lived empires are and how quickly they can fall due to worship of false gods and moral degeneration. Nobody can keep us from realizing faithful love in marriage and family and giving children what they need: Love and bonding in a stable family. It is the most important political act you can perform in our time.
